Showcase Your Smarts at ADHA24!
The ADHA, in partnership with HALEON, invites undergraduate students to give podium presentations at the Undergraduate Student Professional Presentation Program and win a cash prize!
Click Here to SubmitThis is a unique opportunity for ADHA student members to take the stage at the ADHA24 Annual Conference and present on an important dental hygiene topic for only 6 minutes and compete for cash awards.
$1,000, $500 and
$300 will be awarded to the top three presentations AND to their respective dental hygiene programs!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
STUDENTS! Tell your Program Director that you'd like to participate! Dental hygiene program leadership have received details about this opportunity and with their support and consent you can represent your program and submit your application today.
PROGRAM DIRECTORS! Please identify undergrad students and/or student teams to participate in this presentation opportunity.* If you need program details resent, please contact the ADHA Education Department (contact details below).
*ADHA does not designate any specific procedures for the selection of student clinicians to represent a dental hygiene program. It is acknowledged that each program applies its own set of rules and guidelines in the student selection.
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
- Presentations take place during ADHA24 in New Orleans, LA
- Only a 6-minute presentation. This is an opportunity to practice public speaking, get valuable feedback from peers and judges and build your resume for job prospects!
- Develop your presentation -- you can seek assistance from a faculty advisor.
- Choose from any of our the topics listed below.
- More than one student on a team? Identify one student to present.
- Time for Q&A from judges at the end of your presentation.
- Attended by your peers, dental hygiene pros attending ADHA24 and an esteemed panel of judges – and followed by a special reception and awards presentation!
This is your time to shine, come dressed for success in business/professional attire. Topics to choose from - pick one!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO DO
- Select your topic and indicate your interest by Friday, March 29, 2024 by submitting your application.
- Wait for confirmation of acceptance by Friday, April 5, 2024.
- Prepare your presentation for submission by Friday, May 31, 2024.
- Get ready for some fun and compete for cash prizes and recognition from the profession.
WINNERS AND PRIZES!
Three (3) winning presentations are selected based on the judges’ evaluation. Winners will receive a certificate, social media recognition, a personal cash award and a cash award for their dental hygiene program.**
1st Place: $1,000 cash plus $1,000 for your program
2nd Place: $500 cash plus $500 for your program
3rd Place: $300 cash plus $300 for your program
**All winners will complete a W-9 to receive cash prize via electronic transfer after the ADHA24 Annual Conference concludes. If winning presentation is prepared by a student team, all team members will receive equal shares of the indicated prize award. Awards to dental hygiene programs will be coordinated through program directors or designated administrators.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
All participants in the Undergraduate Student Professional Presentation Program must:
- Be selected through a process determined by their dental hygiene program.
- Have the consent of their Program Director to represent their school at this event.
- Be a current student member of the ADHA.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Each student or student team must apply online via the ADHA submission portal by Friday, March 29, 2024.
- Selected students will receive details about the schedule, times and room location related to the program.
- Each student must disclose the amount of assistance received in preparing the podium presentation when the final presentation is uploaded.
