ED09: From Abstract to Insights: How to Read a Journal Article

A growing awareness of the importance of evidence-based practice means dental hygienists must be thoughtful consumers of the professional literature. Evaluating the research can seem like an intimidating process, however. This presentation will equip participants with the essential tools and strategies to efficiently navigate the complex terrain of scholarly publications. A review of the principles of evidence-based decision-making will be followed by an article "dissection". We will demystify the structure, language, and content of journal articles, empowering the dental hygienist to extract valuable insights and assess research quality.
