Ebony Jackson Griffin is the Associate Director for Health Equity in the Office on Smoking and Health (OSH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In this role, she is responsible for leading efforts to advance health equity and reduce disparities in commercial tobacco prevention and control. Prior to joining OSH in 2023, Ebony spent eight years serving as a Health Scientist and Supervisory Regulatory Health Project Manager, within the Office of Science at FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products. She has led or has been involved in numerous scientific endeavors related to tobacco control policies and regulatory approaches, including evaluation of Menthol, review of proposed rules and product standards, research in tobacco-related health disparities, training and education in tobacco product review, and review of new tobacco product applications. Prior to her time at FDA, Ms. Griffin worked at Children’s National Medical Center focusing on reducing health disparities in targeted populations in Washington, DC through Community Health Education Programming. She earned her MPH from Benedictine University, and her BS from Rochester Institute of Technology.
