Dr. April Turner is an Associate Professor and National Board Success Manager in the dental hygiene department at West Coast University in Anaheim, California. She is an RDH who worked in clinical practice for 28 years and has been a faculty member at West Coast University for 13 years. Before becoming the National Board Success Manager, she was a Senior Clinic Coordinator, and taught Radiology Science and Interpretation, General Pathology, and Medically Compromised Care. April received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 1990 from Loma Linda University, her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2015, and earned a Doctor of Education in 2022 from Grand Canyon University. Her thesis and dissertation research focused on the learning styles of Millennial and Generation Z dental hygiene students; this research has been published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene and the Journal of Dental Education. She has a passion for helping dental hygiene students succeed on the NBDHE and, in her spare time, enjoys travel and trips to Disneyland.
